Strategic Leadership for the Kingdom

Pastor Tina Carriger is a visionary leader and master organizer called to serve the church with excellence, clarity, and Spirit-led structure. With over eight years in full-time pastoral ministry, she has distinguished herself by building systems that empower congregations, align ministries with mission, and foster sustainable spiritual growth.

A graduate of Southern Adventist University (B.A., Theology) and Andrews University (M.Div.), Pastor Carriger is currently completing her Doctor of Ministry in Leadership, with a specialized focus on equipping women for effective leadership, along with her Masters in Business Administration from the University of Maryland. Her education is matched by her heart for people and her gift for bringing order where there is chaos.

From her early years at the Oakwood University Church under Dr. Carlton P. Byrd, Pastor Carriger was entrusted with key responsibilities in evangelism, baptism coordination, Bible worker oversight, and mentorship of theology students. She helped steward one of the largest baptisms in the church’s history—113 students in a single weekend—through strategic planning and collaboration.

As the pastor of First SDA Church in Springfield, Tennessee, she transformed a small congregation of 50 by leading both spiritual and operational renovations. Under her leadership, the church underwent a physical transformation—new signage, structural upgrades, and media enhancements—while experiencing a spiritual revival. She launched community outreach initiatives, such as a monthly food pantry and virtual evangelistic series, and dramatically increased the church’s annual tithe.

Now serving on pastoral staff of the Community Praise Church in Alexandria, Virginia, Pastor Carriger leads the church’s discipleship, evangelism, and communications ministries. Her work has resulted in increased engagement, stronger follow-through systems, public affirmation of ministry leaders, and improved social media outreach. She advocates for alignment between vision, mission, and ministry, ensuring that every initiative has both spiritual purpose and structural clarity.

Her passion for organization is not simply administrative—it is deeply theological. As a preacher and administrator, Pastor Carriger believes that organization is a spiritual discipline that reflects God’s character and enables the church to operate with excellence, hospitality, and impact.
